“I would”expect”—Pundit issues Mike Tresor claim amid awkward Burnley situation

Mike Tresor, a winger for Burnley, will likely stay at Turf Moor since issues with possible payments associated with the transactions have prevented him from going on loan to OGC Nice or Ajax.

Tresor came to the Clarets from Genk, a Belgian team, on a season-long loan last summer. Burnley had to pay the agreed-upon cost in order to make Tresor’s temporary move permanent in May.

Foot Mercato reported that the 25-year-old was expected to move on loan to Nice for the remainder of the season. Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has reported that the details of the 25-year-old’s proposed loan agreement were disputed by the two teams, with the Clarets requesting an excessive price in order to make the transfer happen.

However, Tavolieri said that Ajax was equally eager and waiting to make a trade, with the Dutch team having until Monday, September 2 as their deadline. Nothing came to pass, and Tresor, who struggled in the Premier League the previous season, is still unsure of his future at Turf Moor.

Tresor’s agent, Shallon Nkeshimana, told Dutch publication Voetbal International that the player wanted to go to one of the big Dutch teams, and the teams approached him in an attempt to make a trade. But the Clarets’ “disproportionate” demands made it impossible to finalise a contract.

Owing to the conditions of his contract, Burnley has already given the Belgium international a five-year contract at Turf Moor (De Morgen) and converted Tresor’s loan agreement into a permanent transfer for a substantial price in Championship terms of £16 million.

“There were two clubs interested in him, apparently. Nice were one, with a loan deal agreed and an option-to-buy, but they ran out of time.

“Tresor’s representative has publicly stated that although Ajax was really interested in signing him, the agreement fell through on the day of decline because of Burnley Football Club’s unreasonable demands.

Although he is a gifted player, Burnley has not used him yet this season. That’s a clue as to his position within the club.

As things are right now, I would anticipate him to move on during the January transfer window. It is up to his agent to find a means for him to leave the football team and to start that process right away.

“It’s instead been left to the last day and of course it’s then going to be difficult with negotiations at the last minute to get te deal through. Of course, in this instance, time has run out.

“So, unless Scott Parker picks up injuries and he manages to force his way back into the setup, it’s clear that Parker doesn’t see him as part of his plans and it’s likely that he will instead move on in the January window.”

The forward arrived from Belgian side Genk, making 16 appearances in the Premier League as Burnley suffered relegation to the Championship.

Tresor has not played a single game for Parker’s team this year; he was not even included in the matchday roster for either of their first-round matches.

The striker has made 19 appearances for the team across all competitions, but he has not scored in any of them. He has also been incredibly unimpressive and deceptive thus far.

Still, he’s got talent. Tresor has shown promise as a player in Belgium and the Championship; if he puts in the necessary effort to make an impression with Burnley, he may be able to secure a transfer.
