It’s difficult to say if Dallas Cowboys supporters should welcome the 2024 NFL season with excitement or skepticism. Are we eager to forget the awful taste of the playoff disaster in January, or are we just skeptical that it would be folly to even hope for, much less expect, a better outcome this year? Most likely, both are the answer.

Nonetheless, the staff at Newsweek is eager for the season to begin. They’re also excited to see what sort of start the Cowboys can have and how the season will end for Dallas, based on their rankings of the 10 Best Thursday Night Football games and the 10 Best Monday Night Football games this season.

Ranking No. 7 on the list of Thursday Night Football games, Newsweek recommends that fans watch the Week 4 “classic NFC East rivalry” game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants on September 26 in front of their televisions.

According to the article, “primetime matchups between these two teams are nothing new.” “The Giants’ rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers will make his primetime debut, and the Cowboys want to reclaim their dominance in the division.”

Thursday Night Football is a huge event, of course. Even while the first full Sunday schedule of games is thrilling, don’t forget that the NFL season this year begins on Thursday, September 5, with the Baltimore Ravens and league MVP Lamar Jackson taking on the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Two Dallas games in the late season are among Newsweek’s top Monday night games to watch in 2024. The Dallas vs. Houston Texans game in Week 11 is the sixth MNF game of the season, and the article states that it is worth watching because “if Dak Prescott can outperform C.J. Stroud on his home turf, it could go a long way to him earning a huge contract next offseason.”

The Week 14 matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots at AT&T Stadium, ranked No. 2, is an even more exciting game to watch.

Joe Burrow, who missed the 2020 game due to a ruptured ACL, will play the Dallas Cowboys for the first time in his career, according to Newsweek. “CeeDee Lamb and Ja’Marr Chase, two of the NFL’s top young receivers, are playing for the Bengals and Cowboys. It should be an entertaining game if they go off.
