The SPFL has confirmed several changes to upcoming fixtures in the Scottish Premiership.
The forthcoming 2024–25 Scottish Premiership schedule has undergone some modifications, as stated by the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).
Thirteen games in Scotland’s top division have been rescheduled for Sundays as a result of the UEFA competition schedule being released. Broadcast choices have
also been made for the weekends of September and October.
On Sunday, September 29th, Rangers vs. Hibs will air live on Sky Sports; on Sunday, October 6th, Ross County vs. Celtic will be shown, with both kickoffs set for 12 p.m.
The forthcoming matches between St Johnstone and both Glasgow teams will also be televised live, this time on Premier Sports. On Saturday, September 28th, the
Celtics game will air, and on Sunday, October 6th, there will be a Rangers match. The latter has been rescheduled since on Thursday, October 3, the Gers will play
Lyon in the Europa League. Now scheduled on the same day as Glasgow’s Great Scottish Run, the St Johnstone match will begin at 8 p.m.
Following “extensive talks” with the two clubs, Police Scotland, Glasgow City Council, and the race organizers, SPFL Chief Operating Officer Calum Beattie made a
statement regarding the fixture movement.
“I want to officially thank the two clubs and all other involved parties for their support during this process, which allowed the Rangers vs. St Johnstone game to
happen on the planned weekend.
There are difficulties with the packed schedule, which are made worse by the extra UEFA matchdays this season. Although we recognize that this is an odd time for
an SPFL match, we had very few options.
