Chris Rigg is a potential new fan favorite for Sunderland supporters.
Chris Rigg is quickly gaining popularity among Sunderland supporters, if he isn’t already.
The 17-year-old is quickly securing his spot in Regis Le Bris’ starting lineup, having started the last three Championship games for the Black Cats.
Sunderland defeated Portsmouth 3-1 last time out, and Rigg was praised for his performance once more.
Rigg, who has been called a “generational player,” is displaying his skill in the middle of the park. His deft passes and fast spins make switching from defense to offense look easy.
However, Le Bris needs to use caution when around Rigg because he is only 17 years old. The young player got his first professional deal in the summer, so he wants to make sure nothing comes too fast for him.
After making 21 appearances in the Championship and scoring twice in the previous campaign, Rigg, who is under contract at the Stadium of Light through the summer of 2027, will be looking to make his official debut with the Sunderland first team this season.
