Rangers transfers: Update on Ianis Hagi to Turkey – sources

According to Football Insider, Rangers star Ianis Hagi is content to stay at the club despite his lack of first-team experience.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (2 September) that Hagi, 25, is expected to reject the chance to leave Ibrox for his native Romania with heavyweights FCSB.

The Scottish window ended on 30 August but clubs in Turkey, Romania, Belgium and elsewhere are still eligible to swoop for the offensive midfielder.

It is believed that Turkish clubs have looked into Hagi’s situation in preparation for a possible move before the deadline of September 13.

However, he is open to staying at Ibrox for at least the first half of the 2024-25 season.

Rangers star Hagi content to stay despite B team demotion

According to sources, his income exceeds £20,000 per week and is set to rise even higher if he makes his 100th Rangers appearance.

Philippe Clement has relegated him to the Rangers B squad, despite his significant contribution to the club’s 2020-21 Scottish Premiership win.

Hagi has 16 goals and 21 assists since joining Rangers from KRC Genk in 2020, and he spent last season on loan with La Liga side Alaves.

His contract with Ibrox continues until May 2026.
