Raiders should look to add this player to the roster ASAP

This individual may be the one to help the Las Vegas Raiders right away if there is one out there.

To begin their 2024 NFL season, the Las Vegas Raiders the ‘road’ to Los Angeles on Sunday to play the Chargers, one of their division opponents. The team committed to Antonio Pierce this summer, therefore this will be his first game since losing the title of interim head coach.

Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco have done an excellent job assembling the squad since Pierce assumed the head coaching position. It is hoped that the Raiders would eventually reach a position where they are considered for the playoffs each season, and Raider Nation should have some optimism after their performance in the last stretch of the 2023 NFL season under Pierce.

Gardner Minshew II, the seasoned quarterback who defeated Aidan O’Connell to start this summer, will be the main man on offense. Although Minshew has a lot of NFL experience and a confidence that will thrill Raiders supporters, if he does not result in victories, things will quickly change.

With Maxx Crosby as their leader, the front seven of the team has the ability to rank among the finest in football. The issue is that, as has been the case for a while, there are too many unanswered questions over the secondary, with Jakorian Bennett being the largest.

The Raiders would be wise to examine closely a seasoned cornerback who is still in search of

Raiders should look to add Xavien Howard ASAP

With the Miami Dolphins, Xavien Howard started 13 games last season and continued his streak of at least one interception over the previous seven years. Howard has 29 interceptions in his career overall, 10 of which came in 2020, the year he finished third in the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year competition.

Though his run of three consecutive Pro Bowls ended in the 2023 NFL season, he is a seasoned cornerback who might make an immediate impact on this Raiders secondary. Howard is a guy who has played at a very high level for a very long time, but Bennett has not shown that he can be a reliable player at the NFL level.

Howard, who is 31 years old, should still have some output left in him after being nominated to the NFL’s Top-100 team just two years ago.

Marcus Epps and Trevon Moehrig make up a formidable safety combo for Las Vegas, while Jack Jones and Nate Hobbs make up a powerful cornerback duo. The Raiders might lose a lot of money if Bennett stumbles this season, which is why Howard’s arrival would provide the Silver and Black a great safety net at the position group.
