With the report due tomorrow will the victims get answers or will this turn into yet another travesty of British Justice.

The matchday Saturdays remaining before the end of the season are running out after taking another weekend off to spend a very good afternoon with Spireite Craig seeing the U’s earn a well-deserved point against runaway leaders Mansfield Town, followed by Chesterfield’s promotion back to the EFL. In light of the fact that I will be travelling again on Saturday to attend Planet Hollywood’s visit with over 9,000 fans, I will sneak in a Good Friday special in front of what will surely be two crucial games that will determine Colchester United’s future. The other exiles will be visiting the JobServe on Monday as the family arrives for their customary Easter Egg Hunt and roast dinner. Come on
The U’s are now in the relegation zone as a result of a disappointing performance at Holker Street, which was made worse by more subpar refereeing that cost us a clear penalty in the first half and gave the Bluebirds a first-half lead (despite the fact that the free kick was a complete freak play). The Donny game will inevitably be postponed on Tuesday. Our fate remains largely in our hands, since we have seven of the next 11 games at home. However, everyone must perform their duties both on and off the (repurposed) field.

It has been three weeks since the last blog, due to a combination of postponements and a trip to Sutton after the U’s, as the U’s are ready to take on a very difficult opponent in Barrow AFC. The Bluebirds spent 48 years in the non-league wilderness after being voted out of the football league in 1972 (perhaps as a result of Ronnie Radford’s screamer against Newcastle in the Edgar Street muck). They eventually made a comeback in the 2019–20 season due to the Covid-19 restriction. Some people are shocked by how well they’re performing this year, but they shouldn’t be since they placed ninth last year under new manager Pete Wild and obviously want to go better this time around. However, we have our own brand-new proving elusive right now, we’re certainly making ourselves a team hard to beat.

Form is transitory, but class is eternal, according to a quote by Bill Shankly. He was right, of course, but hopefully not more so than today’s trip to Wetherby Road to face League 2’s Harrogate Town. It’s not unreasonable, in my opinion, to claim that the Sulfurites have exceeded the predictions of the majority of commentators, many of whom had them in another relegation battle this season. But things have improved under long-time manager (and former player) Simon Weaver, and they are currently just two spots and two points outside the play-offs. Weaver was rightfully named the January Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month; hopefully, he maintains the title since Danny will take it in a short while.
