Everton has had a successful summer transfer season thus far, but there may still be time to strengthen their offensive line.
This summer, Sean Dyche welcomed four new players to Goodison Park, all of whom have had a positive start.
Defender Jake O’Brien has already scored twice in his first two outings, and Jesper Lindstrom delivered a magnificent free kick on his debut.
Iliman Ndiaye has been added to Everton’s attacking options, although the futures of several of the club’s other forwards remain unknown.
The Toffees have been linked with additional additions ahead of the deadline at the end of the month.
However, Everton appear to have missed out on one player, who is expected to join another Premier League team in the future.
Sean Dyche decision sees Everton miss out on attacker
There has been a lot of conjecture over Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future this summer, with only one year left on his contract.
The former England international has been linked with a transfer away from Liverpool this summer.
Earlier this summer, Newcastle United expressed interest in Calvert-Lewin, but his contract was not resolved.
Recently, Beto’s future has been uncertain, as he has drawn interest from clubs across Europe.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Dyche has stopped Atalanta from pursuing Beto.
Everton expressed interest in signing Atalanta’s ‘complete’ El Bilal Toure to strengthen their assault.
But, with a deal for Beto off the table, a fresh development has emerged: the Atalanta striker appears to have found a new club.
Bournemouth has made a move to buy the striker for £26 million, as they are expected to lose their current striker.
What Sean Dyche has previously said about Beto
Everton only recruited Beto last summer, and he has yet to establish any sort of noteworthy form.
Last season, the Portuguese attacker scored just five goals in 37 appearances across all competitions.
Dyche praised Beto’s early performances for Everton.
‘He acclimated quickly and did an excellent job tonight. With all due respect, the Premier League is different, but he’s demonstrated the rawness, quickness, and impact that he can have on a squad,” he stated.
Given Dyche’s efforts to keep Beto, the Everton manager must be buoyed by the striker’s two goals in the most recent friendly against Motherwell.
