Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris held his first Championship press conference on Thursday.
Regis Le Bris, Sunderland’s new head coach, addressed the media on Thursday.
Prior to his first competitive game as Sunderland manager, it was his first press conference as a Championship boss.
This Saturday’s match between Sunderland and Cardiff City in Wales looks to be a difficult one for both sides.
Erol Bulut asserts that Cardiff has signed players such as Chris Willock, a former Sunderland target, and that they have prepared well this summer.
In the meanwhile, Blondy Nna Noukeu, Ian Poveda, Simon Moore, and Alan Browne—four free agents—have joined the Black Cats.
This summer, a lot more are anticipated to arrive at the Stadium of Light, as Kristjaan Speakman is keen to recruit a striker.
In his remarks on Thursday on Sunderland’s pursuit of a striker, Le Bris stated that he is content with his available options and hinted that Eliezer Mayenda would start against Cardiff City.
Regis Le Bris gives verdict on Luis Hemir at Sunderland
Hemir, 20, was one of several attackers signed by Tony Mowbray in an attempt to strengthen his offensive unit last summer.
However, in 23 Championship games for the Black Cats, Portuguese attacker Hemir would go scoreless.
Hemir was criticized by Sunderland supporters for his worn-out performances during the season; his effort rate both in and out of possession was a major point of contention.
Hemir has made intermittent appearances for Sunderland this summer, but Le Bris’ favorite up top is Mayenda.
Le Bris offered his assessment of Hemir during his pre-game press conference on Thursday, stating: “Hemir is still young.”
“We have to realize how crucial our responsibilities are at the club.
“In order to be able to achieve that later, we must drill their foundations.
“I really believe Hemir has a lot of potential, but he’s not ready for that just yet.”
