To be honest, we expected Liverpool’s nearly Manchester United-like entitlement to fade after Jurgen Klopp left, but it appears they are clinging on.
There are only three weeks left in the transfer season, and Liverpool are yet to make any substantial acquisitions under new manager Arne Slot.
As much as Newcastle United fans have complained about a slow summer, the Scousers must be going crazy.
According to Give Me Sport, the Reds are preparing for ‘late window drama’ involving Newcastle.
Liverpool are eyeing Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes
By now, we’ve all heard about the Anthony Gordon rumours. Newcastle can only blame themselves for this problem because they opened the door to Liverpool while the club was in PSR panic mode, but with the sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson, Newcastle are now in a much stronger position and do not need to sell.
That hasn’t stopped Liverpool from mocking Gordon, and the media from pushing the issue in an attempt to upset the Liverpool-born player.
Not content with potentially upsetting one of our biggest stars, the article also claims that Liverpool is considering a move for Bruno Guimaraes.
Bruno Guimaraes is 100% going nowhere this summer
Bruno’s £100 million release clause has expired, but GMS believes Liverpool may make a late move for him. They do indicate that Bruno Guimaraes is happy at Newcastle; in fact, if you listened to his press conference yesterday, you would think he was overjoyed to be there.
According to GMS, Manchester City is more likely to bid than Liverpool, but Bruno is only worth £80 million. If I were them, I would not waste the phone call.
We didn’t want to sell him for £100 million, so we’re not going to take £20 million less, are we?
