Brendan Rodgers: I’m driven to keep my Celtic team getting better.

Before the new season, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed his “burning” desire to make improvements to his team in order to advance to Europe and win a triple.

But he is aware that in order to carry out that plan, he still needs to bolster his team with talent.

With 11 victories in their final 12 games to secure a double, Celtic wrapped off the first season of Rodgers’ second stint as manager on a high note.

During their preseason tour of the United States, his team defeated DC United, Manchester City, and Chelsea with four goals apiece, demonstrating a strong indication that they could maintain that form. The club’s coordinated pressing demonstrated a better comprehension of Rodgers’ tactical objectives.

However, there aren’t many changes to their roster going into their William Hill Premiership debut against Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Joe Hart, who retired, has been replaced by Kasper Schmeichel, while Celtic has signed Paulo Bernardo permanently after he was on loan from Benfica. If Norwich can be convinced to let go of the forward, a comparable deal for Adam Idah could essentially return Celtic to their pre-season form.

With four weeks remaining in the transfer window, Rodgers is still at ease with the plans and is sure his team can start winning right away.

“Winning every domestic trophy is our goal,” he declared. “You have nothing else to hide behind but that.
