Due to his actions in 2022, a former Sunderland hero has been called a “snake.”

During a six-month period in 2022, Sunderland fans went from loving Alex Neil to developing a deep hate for him very soon.

How can Neil possible say he wanted to stay at Sunderland when he turned down offers that were much greater than what he desired in order to relocate to the bet365 Stadium?

We would have done all in our power to keep him, as the owners and fans both clearly understood how valuable he was.

He would not have mentioned Sunderland if his time at Stoke had gone better and he was now fighting for promotion to the Premier League. He’s only saying this now because he doesn’t have a job, but he would absolutely dump us the second opportunity he got.
