Better safe than sorry as far as Carter-Vickers is concerned
Good to hear about CCV, but would it be wiser to put him on the back burner till after the break?
Following his absence from our Scottish Cup victory over Livingston due to persistent injury concerns, Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected to play against St Johnstone on Saturday at Celtic Park. Everyone can tell how much we missed his presence, therefore his return is a huge plus for the team.
Nonetheless, we need exercise caution when it comes to his fitness, particularly since he has a string of important games coming up after the international break. The Big Strong Man is the first name you would want to see on that team sheet come kickoff time, and none more so than the trip to Ibrox on April 7.
I believe it would be a prudent move to bench or even leave out CCV on Saturday. Although I am aware that we play as a much more secure team when he is on the field, it might not be a bad idea to give him a week or so off before we play some more crucial games.
