The midfielder for Benfica, Fredrik Aursnes, is excited to play old Feyenoord teammate Cyriel Dessers at Ibrox and anticipates a “difficult” match against Rangers in the UEFA Europa League last-16 second-leg.

It takes no introduction to Cyriel Dessers’ abilities that Aursnes, the Norway international who was linked to a £42 million move to Aston Villa last summer, is well-known.

Rangers are a challenging foe. Aursnes tells Record, “I know it will be a good match because they are playing well. However, we have high standards.

“I’ve already performed in Holland with Dessers. In Europe, Rangers have already demonstrated their viability. Their Europa League group was won.

“They have demonstrated their high caliber and depth of experience. For us, it will be an extremely challenging match.
