UEFA make contingency plans for Europa League final and it’s a real slap in the face for West Ham

West Ham’s dear friends at UEFA are reportedly putting a contingency plan together for the Europa League final.

It’s fair to say UEFA bigwigs won’t be on the Christmas card list of West Ham’s owners or fans.

Over the past three years, Hammers fans have enjoyed watching their club play in Europe.

culminating in the Europa Conference League championship last summer, of course.

However, UEFA fined West Ham, banned fans, and, in their great wisdom, chose a stadium with a capacity of 19,000 for a big European final, meaning that just 6,000 Hammers were able to witness the team win a trophy in Prague for the first time in 43 years.

Well now the Hammers have had their noses put out of joint by European football’s governing body again.

Contingency plans for final revolve around Liverpool and Rangers

Because it’s a major slap in the face to West Ham and UEFA is planning backup plans for the Europa League final.

Reporter Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports claims that UEFA is organizing specific plans for a Liverpool vs. Rangers final to take place in Dublin.

According to Solhekol, UEFA is worried that the 51,700-seat Aviva Stadium in Dublin won’t be adequate in such a scenario.

Therefore, Croke Park, which has a capacity of 82,000, has been set aside for public observation.

UEFA is also making a special effort to investigate more locations where supporters may be able to witness what may be Jurgen Klopp’s final game.

Is it any surprise that supporters of lower-tier teams like West Ham are fed up with the preference given to teams like Liverpool?

West Ham are massive and UEFA wrong to ignore us

It’s understandable that UEFA expects Liverpool to advance to the championship game; given the “prestige” of the event, they would undoubtedly welcome this.

However, Rangers? West Ham is a far greater chance than the Scottish team to advance to the final, even with a 1-0 first-leg disadvantage.

More than anyone else, UEFA ought to be getting ready for West Ham supporters. because despite the meager amount of tickets available to attend the game, approximately 30,000 people traveled to Prague for the final.

It will be an invasion of claret and blue if the Hammers make it to Dublin. Thus, UEFA ought to be preparing backup plans for West Ham.

If the Hammers get to Dublin it will be a claret and blue invasion. So UEFA should be making contingency plans for West Ham.

But of course David Moyes and the boys have to get the job done against Freiburg first.

Then we can start plotting to prove UEFA are wrong to ignore us.
