Sunderland urged to approach ‘impressive’ manager who’s currently fighting relegation

Sunderland are advised to contact the ‘impressive’ boss who is presently fighting relegation.

Sunderland has been urged to make a bid for a Championship manager this summer.

Mike Dodds was named Sunderland’s temporary coach last month and has already suffered four consecutive losses.

The 37-year-old is anticipated to continue his responsibilities until the summer, when Kristjaan Speakman will replace him with a new permanent manager.

Sunderland’s major aim appears to be one they considered previous to Michael Beale, with Will Still rumored to be on the club’s shortlist for a summer rebuild.

The Reims coach has shown interest in joining a Championship team, and fans want to see Still return to Wearside at the second attempt.

Managers from all over Europe have been associated with the hot seat at the Stadium of Light, but Speakman has been advised to consider a local candidate.

Former Sheffield Wednesday player Carlton Palmer told Football League World that Sunderland and Watford are seeking for a manager. He believes they will stay with their existing managers until the summer, giving them time to consider potential candidates.

“Danny Rohl, Sheffield Wednesday’s youthful manager, has been generating a lot of headlines.

“They were totally dead and buried, but he has brought them within touching distance of probable Championship survival, with four wins in the previous six games.

“There’ll be a lot of interest in Danny, and the club should be worried and look to tie him down on a longer contract.”

Who is Danny Rohl?

Sheffield Wednesday is now 23rd in the league table, which may not seem too awful for Sunderland supporters who haven’t been following the team closely.

Danny Rohl joined Hillsborough after gaining great experience at Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Southampton, and the Germany national team, where he worked under Hansi Flick and Ralph Hassenhuttl.

The ‘very impressive’ 34-year-old joined Sheffield Wednesday when the team was seven points from safety, winless in their first eleven games, and in a bit of a shambles.

Rohl has now brought the Owls within a point of safety, has a lower win % than just Darren Moore and Gary Megson over the previous 36 years, and has been regarded as one of the finest managers Barry Bannan and Josh Windass have ever worked with.

Rohl is beloved by the whole squad and has entirely improved the club’s mindset, and supporters will be devastated if he quits, even if they are demoted.

It appears that he is the youthful, dynamic manager from overseas that the world perceives Will Still to be; he only lacks the media presence that the Reims manager has gained during his time in France.

Rohl will undoubtedly draw a lot of interest in the summer and might be a target for a number of Bundesliga teams, making it difficult for Sunderland to pursue him.
