Sunderland fan pundit makes statement on January addition- “Hasn’t really done a great deal”

Come late to Sunderland during the January transfer window was Callum Styles.

The Hungary international joined Barnsley on a loan deal that would keep him there through the conclusion of the current season.

The 23-year-old, however, has only made four appearances in the Championship since finalizing the deal, indicating that his adjustment to the Black Cats has not been easy (all data from Fbref).

As part of their agreement with the League One team, Sunderland has an option to buy; however, the exact cost of completing the transfer is unknown.

But given Styles’ lackluster debut at the Stadium of Light, maybe there will be second thoughts about making it a long-term home.

A Sunderland supporter provides a call on Callum Styles’ transfer.
Callum Styles Sunderland supporter pundit Jack Austwicke of the FLW is not thrilled with Styles’ early influence at the team.

He acknowledges that the player still has a lot of time to establish himself, but at this point, he is not convinced by the idea of a summer permanent transfer.

Austwicke stated Football League World, “He was okay on his debut against Swansea, hasn’t really done a great deal since.”

Naturally, these are only preliminary findings; he still has a number of games left to show himself.

The problem with loans, especially this late in the game, is that they give borrowers fewer than four months to establish their creditworthiness. That’s why they took him out on such a short loan term.

Thus, I’m not a huge fan of that kind of thing.

I wouldn’t be too worried if he left right now, if you asked.

“I’m not sure how much it would cost or anything else.

“He doesn’t seem like a great football player, but we could still see something special from him.”

Due to their recent performance, Sunderland is no longer in the running for a top six spot in the Championship.

The Black Cats are now 12th in the standings after dropping their previous six league games.

With nine games left, the team’s chances of making it to the promotion shootout are dwindling as the distance to the play-off spots stands at 11 points.
The disorganized state of affairs in Sunderland hasn’t helped Styles.
Styles joined the team during Michael Beale’s stint, although Beale’s leadership was short-lived as Dodds took over as manager of the first team.

Although Sunderland is looking for a new manager, the appointment is not expected to happen until the summer.

Styles has suffered as a result of this chaos in the background, which hasn’t helped matters on the field.

It appears doubtful that he will sign a summer contract to remain with the team, but it’s possible that the new head coach wants to give him another chance to establish himself, so it’s still unclear what the Wearside team’s summer plans will entail at this point.
