Kurt Zouma and Konstantinos Mavropanos of West Ham United have played in “pathetic” fashion in recent games.
Former Celtic and Hammers striker Frank McAvennie criticised the two and urged that Angelo Ogbonna should start again, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
Since early January, the Hammers have not maintained a clean sheet in the league. On Sunday, March 10, the team drew 2-2 with Burnley, with both Mavropanos and Zouma starting.
During a stormy season in Stratford, the backline under David Moyes has come under heavy fire from both fans and commentators.
While captain Zouma has been a constant, Mavropanos has received consistent minutes following a poor start to his rookie year.

The center-back combination astounded McAvennie, who was certain that West Ham would always give up when they played together.
“Oh my God, that defence,” he remarked to Football Insider.
Every week, Mavropanos and Zouma present gifts to one another.
“When those two are playing, they can be improper players, and West Ham will give up goals.”
“I’m not sure I’ll get a clean sheet because sometimes they act so pitiful.”
