Early Celtic Weight Struggles of Nicolas Kuhn Revealed by Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers Reveals Nicolas Kuhn’s Early Celtic Weight Struggles

Winger Nicolas Kuhn has struggled since joining Celtic from Rapid Vienna in January, and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has opened up about it.

Although the 24-year-old didn’t start out making an immediate impact, many had anticipated that he would after signing for 3.5 million euros (Transfermarkt).Kuhn had disappointing early Celtic performances, save from a deflected strike against Aberdeen in a 1-1 draw. However, he received the go-ahead on the right side and appeared capable of handling the assignment on Sunday when Yang wasn’t present. Despite playing Livingston, the German young international was enthusiastic to challenge his opponent and was animated whenever he had the ball.

Along with setting up multiple more opportunities, he helped Daizen Maeda for the Hoops’ opening basket.

When the attacker first joined the Celts, he had just returned from a winter break in Austria, so the manager, Brendan Rodgers, acknowledged after the game that he had lost over a stone in weight. “When he first came in he was in the midst of his break and I think he’d lost seven kilos,” said the boss (RecordSport).

“I believe he discovered he had lost his power and ability to run after he dropped more than a stone in weight.

Nicholas had only recently begun to feel at home. It is evident that he performed well and was somewhat more upbeat, especially in the first half.

“I believe he feels fantastic right now. He has a little work ahead of him.

However, in one-on-one situations, I believe you witnessed his far more aggressive style of play, when he took opponents on and found the pass for Daizen’s goal. That is more of what we would like to see, thus yes. Simply said, it’s adaptation. That was really good, but I’m sure he’ll advance in due course.

Celtic can’t afford to have any players on the team as we approach a pivotal point in the campaign.

Though it’s possible that Kuhn was one of those people in the past, he rose to the occasion this past weekend and produced play that was commensurate with his skill level.

Nothing but good things will happen if he can continue to produce with such consistency till the end of the season.
