Conor Gallagher of Chelsea is expected to defy manager Mauricio Pochettino, which gives Tottenham a boost in their pursuit of the player, sources told Football Insider.
Pochettino is rumoured to think highly of Gallagher and wants to keep the 24-year-old at Stamford Bridge.
Gallagher might have to depart this summer, though, in order to assist Chelsea in resolving its chronic financial problems.
Football Insider said that negotiations between Chelsea and Gallagher have entirely broken down, and they may try to sell him before June 30.
Spurs, who had discussions about a January contract for Gallagher and are still very much interested in bringing him to North London in the summer, will benefit greatly from this.

Chelsea’s most recent 2022-23 finances showed losses of £90 million. If players are not sold by the June deadline, the club might violate Premier League financial regulations and lose points.
Even if Pochettino would love to stick onto Gallagher, Chelsea knows that selling him would bring them a tidy profit because he is an academy product.
Gallagher has been a notable player in the Blues’ disappointing season, with four goals and six assists in 36 games.
