The Portuguese winger has started making media appearances in his native country.

According to Jair Tavares, Hibs is among the biggest clubs in Scotland, ranking just behind Celtic and Rangers.

The 23-year-old Portuguese sensation Tavares failed to establish himself at the Hibees after joining Easter Road from Benfica at the beginning of the previous campaign.The winger had previously said that after being shut out by Lee Johnson, he lost interest in the beautiful game. “Hibernian provides you with the nicest environment, a stunning stadium, and ardent club supporters. To be honest, living in Edinburgh has been good. Very different from my dear Lisbon, which I didn’t realize was the greatest city in the world until I left (laughs)! The only things about this place that “depress” me are the food and the weather, but other than that, it’s a gorgeous city with excellent living standards.”

Acknowledging that he needed some time to get used to the intense atmosphere of Scottish football, Tavares continued, “Scottish football is not at all what outsiders imagine. They don’t realize how challenging it is to play here. It’s not at all simple. Portuguese football is not at all like this. There are players in our country who are far better than those here, and the football is played in a more beautiful and spectacular manner. However, the game is played nonstop here.
