‘Absolutely crazy’… Kelvin Wilson can’t believe Nuno hasn’t done more to address serious Forest problem

Kelvin Wilson has spoken of his bemusement at something which Nottingham Forest simply continue to keep doing at the moment.

The former defender has been speaking to the Forest Focus podcast.

So, what has Wilson had to say about Forest and what aspect of their play is surprising him the most? Let’s take a closer look…

Kelvin Wilson stunned Nottingham Forest aren’t spending more time on something in training

Well, nobody will be surprised to learn that Wilson has begun to question the ability to defend set pieces.

Forest is currently headed back to the EFL after conceding from another set piece over the weekend.

The Reds lost 1-0 against Brighton over the weekend due to an own goal by Andrew Omobamidele.Wilson is astounded by what he’s seeing and wonders why Nuno Espirito Santo hasn’t addressed it, given that Forest has given up the most set pieces in the division.

“Considering what you just said regarding the quantity of set pieces we concede, I can’t believe they’re not doing set pieces after training every single day,” he stated on the Forest Focus podcast.

“Nuno should be putting on a session and then finishing with 10 minutes of set pieces every day.

“It’s crazy, absolutely crazy and it’s still happening, it’s not like they’ve stopped, they’re still doing it.”

Wilson does make fair point about haphazard performances

The incapacity to protect set pieces is now practically absurd!

If Forest could score from them occasionally on the opposite end, it wouldn’t be quite as horrible, but they also don’t do that very often.

In the end, if someone doesn’t accept some of the blame for these circumstances, Forest will be demoted this season.

When Wilson was a central defender for Forest, the Reds’ set pieces were never as bad as they were when he was setting the bar high at the back.

Espirito Santo has been in the position long enough to resolve this issue.

He will now be solely responsible for this, and if he is unable to keep Forest in check with set pieces, his employment may be in jeopardy.
