A Rangers player will be “released” as a European club pursues the transfer of an Ibrox star.
A Rangers defender is said to be ‘very close’ to a transfer away from the Ibrox Stadium.
Borna Barisic, a Croatian international, is “very close” to finalizing a move to Trabzonspor, which will
become official when the summer transfer window opens. This means that a Rangers player might soon
be leaving the Ibrox Stadium.
This is based on a post made by Sabah Spor on X (previously Twitter), where they mention that
Trabzonspor’s previous attempt to sign Barisic was unsuccessful; but, this time around, things might
turn out differently.
Their post on X reads (translated from Turkish): “The 31-year-old Croatian left-back, who was
previously on Trabzonspor’s radar but whose transfer was unsuccessful, is very close to Trabzonspor this
time.”
Since joining Rangers in the summer of 2018, the 31-year-old has made 138 appearances in the Scottish
Premiership for the Light Blues, tallying four goals. His time in Glasgow appears to be limited at this
point, since his current contract is scheduled to end in May and no new agreement appears to be
imminent.
