Scottish Cup: Holders Celtic face Aberdeen while Rangers take on Hearts in semi-finals
Holders In the Scottish Cup semi-finals, Rangers will play Heart of Midlothian and Celtic Aberdeen.
The live draw was broadcast on BBC Scotland right after Hearts defeated Greenock Morton 1-0 on the road.
The Old Firm met in the final four of the previous two seasons and are now ranked first and second in the Premiership.
Instead, Rangers play Hearts, who are in third place, and Celtic play Aberdeen, who are in 10th position.
Heart’s edge Morton is grateful for the late goal.
Rangers, who have won the trophy 34 times, last did so in 2022 after defeating Hearts in the championship game.
Although they have won the cup eight times, the Edinburgh team hasn’t done so since 2012.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle lost to Celtic in the previous season’s championship game. Celtic has won the cup a record 41 times.
They will play an Aberdeen team that has won the cup seven times, but not since 1990. They have advanced to the semi-finals for the first time since they were defeated by Glasgow in 2020.
