On a new Rangers deal, John Lundstram is reticent.

Sources tell Football Insider that negotiations for a new contract between John Lundstram and the Rangers have come to a standstill.

One of the highest paid players at Ibrox, the 30-year-old midfielder’s contract expires in the summer and he will become a free agent.

Football Insider said that negotiations are far advanced and that Rangers have made it their main goal to secure Lundstram to a new contract.

It is believed that Gers manager Philippe Clement is personally attempting to move a transaction along since he sees Lundstram as a crucial member of the starting lineup.

John Lundstram postpones Rangers contract negotiations to consider his options.

The Liverpool-born player is expected to get several offers in the summer, but Lundstram wants to consider his alternatives before committing to a new deal.

This season, Lundstram has made 42 appearances, one goal, and five assists across all competitions, placing him consistently in Clement’s starting lineup.

He joined Rangers in 2021 from Sheffield United and made a slow start to his career at Ibrox, but he has quickly grown to be a fan favourite in Glasgow.

During his three years with the club, Lundstram has won the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup as well as playing a key role in their run to the final in the Europa League in 2021-22.
