In light of their violation of the Premier League’s financial regulations, Nottingham Forest is now “expecting” to lose six points.
Forest is ready for their punishment after Football Insider has revealed that Nuno Espirito Santo’s club will lose points.
Our senior sources have informed us that the struggling club is now set to lose five or six points.
The former Tottenham shot-stopper Paul Robinson stated that a points punishment would be “disastrous” for Forest’s chances of remaining in the top division in an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
Nottingham Forest will find out their destiny later this season after being accused of breaking the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) of the Premier League in January.
Forest has “admitted” that they violated the rules, as The Times reported last month, having surpassed their permitted losses of £61 million over three years leading up to the 2022–2023 season.
According to Robinson, a six-point deduction would be “disastrous” for Nottingham Forest’s attempt to survive.
For a comparable infraction of PSR regulations, Everton was docked 10 points; however, the punishment was lowered to six following an appeal.
Robinson stated on the Inside Track podcast of Football Insider, “They’re expecting six, aren’t they?
That is the current precedence that has been established.
We all agreed that Everton’s ten points was punitive and that the Premier League was suffering as a result of the independent regulator.
“The Premier League growled at Everton and snatched 10 points away from them all of a sudden.”
Six has now been determined to be fair, and that is the standard that has been established.
“You would anticipate that Everton and Forest will each receive a six-point deduction.
That would, in my opinion, be devastating for Nottingham Forest.
They were unfortunate to lose to Manchester United, but their defence is simply too weak.
“I’m done with Burnley and Sheffield United.” Luton, Forest, and Everton will square off against each other.
