Everton: New appointment as James Vaughan development shared in ‘Aggressive’ update

Everton have named former Toffees striker James Vaughan as Head of Youth Recruitment at Finch Farm, according to The Secret Scout.

Vaughan has moved across from his role as Loans Manager at the club, with Everton looking to be more aggressive with their scouting of future talents

Everton targeting future youth at Goodison Park

The appointment of Vaughan as the club’s Head of Youth Recruitment is a very positive development at Finch Farm.

With nearly 400 senior appearances and more than a century of goals in his career, the former striker understands what it takes to become a future talent.

He was crowned Everton Under 16s player of the season in 2003-04 before making his full senior debut at 16 years and 271 days old, surpassing James Milner’s Premier League record and breaking Wayne Rooney’s record as the Toffees’ youngest top-flight scorer.

With Sean Dyche’s side presently featuring the promising talents of Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana, looking to the future can be a very profitable strategy.

The fear of relegation at Goodison Park is quite serious, with only four points separating them from Luton Town in the dropzone, which could explain why Everton are looking for some great youth possibilities.

If the worst-case scenario does become reality, and the Toffees are exiled from the Premier League, youngsters could be the key to Everton bouncing back up from the Championship.
