European club linked with double Sunderland transfer swoop as Charlie Methven signs ex-Leeds United man

Watford has appointed former player Tom Cleverley as the team’s acting manager after dismissing head coach Valerien Ismael. Cleverley, 34, ended his playing career at the end of the previous campaign, having played for Watford for 181 games.
