Another West Ham player has been ‘Fornalsed’

A player for West Ham has been “Fornalsed.”

Shell-shocked Almost half of the James Ward-Prowse who signed with West Ham this summer appears to be gone. Ward-Prowse was ineffectual against Burnley after hooking up with Kalvin Phillips at halftime, but I don’t hold that against him in the slightest.

The midfielder played a graveyard shift on the left wing for the majority of the first half, which has destroyed many West Ham players. During his time on the left, Pablo Fornals developed from a creative player into a reliable holding winger.

Said Benrahma was a devious, flicking goal scorer at Brentford, but at the conclusion of his Hammers tenure, he had become a frightened, terrified hybrid winger with little confidence left in himself. Luckily for the players, it’s not fatal; with Real Betis and Lyon, respectively, they have both rediscovery their flare and goal-scoring ability.

James Ward-Prowse is the one being forced into a role for which he is not qualified. His strategy appears to be to start every game as an attacking midfield player. He lacks the vision, flare, and goal threat necessary to contribute there, thus the venture usually ends abruptly.

In the second phase of the strategy, JWP is moved to the left and Lucas Paqueta is brought into the infield as David Moyes looks for inventiveness. Naturally, he struggles as he lacks the agility, crossing, and dribbling ability necessary to play on the wing.

Although James Ward-Prowse is a decent player, his speciality is set pieces. He plays central midfield. In addition to undermining the player’s confidence by frequently playing him out of position, West Ham is also assembling an unbalanced squad.

JWP is only the most recent player to be “Fornalsed”; it is not his fault.
