Ibrox Exclusive: Rangers now plan to let big earner go and sign ‘A-list’ replacement

Rangers to let Kemar Roofe go and sign ‘A-list’ replacement – sources.

According to Football Insider, Rangers want to let Kemar Roofe go as a free agent this summer.

The 31-year-old’s lucrative deal ends at the end of the season, and the Ibrox club has no plans to renew it.

Given Roofe’s recent injury history, the Gers were unwilling to risk prolonging his stay.

Instead, the Glasgow giants hope to buy a ‘A-list’ striker in the summer, using money saved from Roofe’s salaries to fund the transfer.

According to Football Insider, Rangers seek to sign Fabio Silva on a permanent basis if they receive a £20 million boost from Champions League qualification.

Rangers are looking for a new striker after Roofe was let go.

Roofe has been at Ibrox for the past four years, signing from Leeds United in 2020.

He has 96 appearances for Rangers in all competitions, scoring 38 goals and assisting seven times.

Roofe, on the other hand, has been plagued by injuries, missing 61 games while sidelined in Scotland.

This season, he has made 18 appearances for Philippe Clement’s team but has yet to play a full 90 minutes.
