Brendan Rodgers rates permanent Celtic transfer chances for Adam Idah as he puts ball in Norwich City court

Adam Idah’s future at Celtic will require a summertime agreement with Norwich City, according to Brendan Rodgers.

The striker has been essential in keeping the Hoops within two points of Rangers in the Premiership title race with his doubles away at Motherwell and Hibs. His loan move from the Canaries until the end of the season caused some people to scratch their heads, but in seven Celtic games since then, he has five goals and one assist.

There was no buyout option attached to his loan transfer in January. In response to a question about whether Idah may stay in Glasgow past the end of the season, Rodgers has placed the initiative squarely in Norwich’s court.

“We’ll evaluate that at the conclusion of the season,” he stated. Not all of it is in our control. Negotiations would be required.”

This season, the hoops transfer market has been bemoaned. Mark Lawwell, the head of first team scouting and recruitment, resigned from his position during the January window. Preparing for the summer transfer season has been going full steam ahead, according to Rodgers.

“There’s a lot of work happening on that front,” the Irishman stated. Is this an opportunity for me to sign it? Yes, I believe that the game looks different now since we lost a few key players this season. These guys had distinct personalities in addition to being skilled football players. When you lose that individuality, it’s difficult.

“Despite everything that has been thrown at them this season, the boys have been outstanding. Since these guys had just finished a season in which they won the Triple Crown, I felt compelled to give them this chance.

“But I also understand that there is a revolving door every three or four years based on my experience playing football, particularly at teams like Celtic. It’s about figuring out what the squad needs to advance and expand. You need to rekindle the team’s enthusiasm even if they are winning. We will consider doing that in the summer.
