Reporter drops “huge” Celtic transfer plan involving marquee striker.

Dermot Desmond, Celtic’s largest shareholder, is reportedly planning a “huge” investment on a new striker during the summer transfer window.

Celtic are ready for life after Abada.

The Hoops plan to make fresh signings this summer to stay ahead of Rangers. However, Abada has joined MLS side Charlotte FC for £8 million.

The 22-year-old has struggled to fit into Rodgers’ plans due to family and personal issues related to the conflict in Gaza. He has only started five league matches in 2023/24, and Celtic are willing to sell him, ending a brief but successful stay at Parkhead.

During the January transfer window, Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland emerged as a potential replacement for the Scottish Premiership giants. The 28-year-old scored against Brendan Rodgers’ team last weekend, but it’s unclear if he’ll be re-signed.

Adam Idah is thriving on loan at Celtic, making an immediate impression since arriving in January. One source suggests that a permanent deal might be on the cards for him in the summer, if he continues to impress. With five league goals in just four starts, he has contributed significantly to the team’s offensive.

Celtic are seeking for a marquee striker signing.

Football Insider reports that Celtic will set aside “huge funds” to acquire a new striker by the end of the season. They are looking to fill Abada’s hole by bringing in a “A-list talent”.

It’s encouraging to see Celtic adopting such a bullish approach to their impending business, recognizing the importance of not only replacing Abada but also bringing in a top-tier player.

The Hoops’ offense has struggled to score goals this season, with only midfielder Matt O’Riley (11) reaching double figures. This highlights the need for more firepower.

Kyogo Furuhashi 9
David Turnbull 7
Luis Palma 6
Adam Idah 5

Although Abada has struggled this season, he remains a difficult player to replace within the squad. Rodgers has previously praised him, stating, “He has already made a great contribution to Celtic, delivering some great performances and making a real impact.”. His energy and ability are valuable assets to us, and his performance in terms of goals and assists from a variety of places has been outstanding. “He is an outstanding young player.”

It remains to be known who the player in question will be, but Celtic should have enough money to go out on an individual.
