Rangers on track for stunning £20m transfer boost – sources.

Rangers will increase their transfer budget by almost £20 million if they qualify for Champions League next season, according to Football Insider sources.

The Glasgow giants are now dominating the Scottish Premiership, having closed the seven-point advantage Celtic had at the top of the table.

If Philippe Clement’s side maintains their lead and wins their 56th league title, they would automatically qualify for the 2024-25 Champions League.

The famed European competition will change to a Swiss-style format next season, with an additional four teams and no group stages.

Instead, teams will compete in a league structure, ensuring that Rangers will have at least four home games at Ibrox.

Rangers close to stunning £20m boost

According to official Uefa documentation from the 2023-24 season, any team that advanced to the group stage was guaranteed a £14 million bonus.

Additional payments from the UK broadcasting market pool and coefficient payments will boost that total, and prize money is projected to rise even higher next season under the new arrangement.

Furthermore, hosting Champions League matches would result in dramatically enhanced matchday revenue for Rangers, particularly through corporate hospitality.

According to Football Insider, Rangers’ summer transfer budget might increase by almost £20 million if they qualify.

It would provide additional funds for Clement to invest in his first summer transfer window as Rangers manager.
