Rangers injury news: Zak Lovelace could be out for two months at Ibrox in new update
Chris Jack reports that Rangers forward Zak Lovelace would be sidelined for up to two months due to a damaged hamstring.
The writer claims that the midweek match against Royal Antwerp is when the B team striker sustained the injury in a piece published on the Rangers Review website on March 9.
He was originally replaced during the game as a precaution, but a scan later on indicated the severity of the injury, thus he will now be sidelined for some time.
The curse of Rangers injuries persists.
The curse of Ibrox doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon, as evidenced by yet another Rangers attack injury this season.
To the surprise of Ally McCoist, Ross McCausland just escaped significant injury; nevertheless, Oscar Cortes will be out for two months, while Abdallah Sima, Todd Cantwell, Kieran Dowell, Rabbi Matondo, and Danilo will all be out for a short spell.
Dujon Sterling and Fabio Silva had to be played out of position in the wide areas by Philippe Clement as a result, but the squad kept up its good play and performance.
Given that Cole McKinnon and other young players saw action off the bench during the 2-2 tie with Benfica, it may have been a chance for them to break into the starting lineup and earn minutes.
But Lovelace won’t be available following this most recent setback if there is to be another offensive opportunity similar to the one that saw McCausland receive his chance.
