Rangers attacker tears hamstring, could be out for two months – Chris Jack

Rangers injury news: Zak Lovelace could be out for two months at Ibrox in new update.

Rangers attacker Zak Lovelace has a torn hamstring and will be out of action for up to two months, according to Chris Jack.

According to the Rangers Review website (9 March), the B team forward sustained an injury during a midweek match against Royal Antwerp.

He was originally substituted during the game as a precautionary measure, but after a scan revealed the extent of the damage, he is now expected to remain out for the foreseeable future.

Rangers injury curse continues

Another Rangers injury in attack this season means the curse of Ibrox does not appear to be abating anytime soon.

Ross McCausland avoided serious injury, surprising Ally McCoist. Oscar Cortes is out for two months, while Abdallah Sima, Todd Cantwell, Kieran Dowell, Rabbi Matondo, and Danilo are also sidelined for a while.

This has prompted Philippe Clement to play Dujon Sterling and Fabio Silva out of position in the wide zones, but the team has continued to perform effectively and produce results.

It could be an opportunity for young players to break into the team and receive minutes, with Cole McKinnon coming off the bench in the 2-2 draw with Benfica.

However, if another offensive opportunity arises, such as the one that provided McCausland with his chance, Lovelace will no longer be available following this last blow.
