Everton: Pundit reacts as Sean Dyche goes ‘absolutely mental’ at Manchester United
According to Alan Pardew, Sean Dyche became “absolutely crazy” on the Old Trafford touchline when Everton lost despite having “such a great” start.
After Manchester United scored against the run of play on a penalty kick by Bruno Fernandes after James Tarkowski fouled Alejandro Garnacho, the former Premier League manager responded in real time on talkSPORT, which airs on the station’s website on March 9.
Pardew felt that the Toffees boss must have been furious with his side giving away a “sloppy” spot kick despite starting the strongest.
Pardew said: “Sean Dyche is going absolutely mental down there about something. I’m not sure what exactly, but he’s infuriated, and he must be because his team started so well, but to give away a sloppy penalty like that and to be 1-0 down, I bet he can’t believe it.”
“It feels like there could be loads of goals in this game – it’s chances galore!”
Sean Dyche enraged as Everton shoot themselves in the foot at Old Trafford
If Dyche was angry about handing the advantage to Erik ten Hag’s struggling United side then he would have been apoplectic when Ben Godfrey managed to repeat the trick midway through the half.
The Toffees dominated play for the first forty-five minutes at Old Trafford, but they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities, thus they were left with nothing.
And with just star player Jarrad Branthwaite and Jordan Pickford holding it together at the back, their teammates were left at the foot of a mountain to climb after two instances of clumsy defense from Tarkowski and Godfrey that resulted in two rather obvious penalties.
