Celtic star Liel Abada has said goodbye to his favorite Glasgow restaurant ahead of his move across the pond.

The 22-year-old winger was spotted at La Lanterna in Glasgow’s city centre, posing with a member of staff clutching a signed Abada shirt.

The player signed a two-year contract with Charlotte FC in North Carolina, which is thought to be worth over £8 million. He has been an important player for the Hoops since signing in July 2021.

The Italian restaurant took to Instagram to bid Abada farewell, writing, “La Lanterna said buon viaggio to one of its regular customers the other day.” But before leaving the Atlantic, @liel.abada dropped by to say farewell.

“Buona Fortuna Liel in America” .

It comes after Abada’s previous manager said the winger was treated “disgustingly” by pro-Palestine supporters.

Brendan Rodgers reportedly refuted such concerns, claiming that his inability to play in the previous five matches was due to his “frame of mind”.
