Celtic Legend Admits This Bhoys Decision ‘Doesn’t Make Sense To Me’

Bernabei appeared in only nine games throughout the first half of the season and was a little contributor to the squad.

Celtic have now leased him out to Brazilian club Internacional till the end of the year, and Sutton has lambasted the club and Rodgers for their decision.

He emphasized that it is one of several perplexing moves made by the Celtic management this season, and that the squad lacks cover at left-back.

The former Bhoys great is also concerned about Greg Taylor’s injury problems, and he finds it frustrating that Celtic will now compete for the title without a backup left-back in the squad.

In his Daily Record editorial, Sutton questioned Celtic’s decision to allow Alexandro Bernabei to leave. It simply doesn’t make logic to me.

And that may have gone undetected at Celtic Park, but that is a problematic position for them.

“They just have Greg Taylor now, and while he’s been a reliable player, he’s had some physical issues – not surprising after being flogged for roughly three years.

“Celtic is currently in a title match with no cover. It’s crazy.

“If Taylor is injured or suspended, Anthony Ralston, a right back, will need to play, or Liam Scales will need to switch over, resulting in one of the two centre-backs who have not been rated good enough all season stepping in.

“God help them if Cameron Carter-Vickers pulls up again.”

Celtic’s recruitment has been under scrutiny since last summer, and many believe they did not do enough in the winter transfer window, despite having significant cash reserves to draw on.
