CELTIC HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHALLENGE CORRUPT REFEREES IN BRENDAN RODGERS’ UPCOMING HEARING, THE BIG QUESTION IS WILL THEY?

Celtic have had numerous opportunities over the previous decade to confront corruption in the Scottish game.

They have decided not to do this for unclear reasons.

There are many unresolved issues in Scottish football.

In fact, there’s a herd of them.

Ignoring them on a constant basis has only one result.

A stampede will occur eventually.

As a club supporter for several decades, I’ve witnessed numerous instances of corruption in our game.

I could focus on many things, but today I have to concentrate on the most important.

Refereeing.

For years, our game has desperately needed referee reform.

As the country’s largest club, and one that appears to suffer the most from referee ineptitude, honest mistakes, unconscious bias, outright cheating, or whatever you want to call it, we have never taken it upon ourselves to dispute this.

THIS WEEK, MANY PEOPLE ARE LAUGHING AT CELTIC.

Gordon Dalziel and Kenny Miller laughed at us on the Clyde 1 Superscoreboard the other night.

You know, they believe we have no right to complain because we have dominated the game here for the most of the century.

To a certain extent, this is reasonable.

We’ve called out outrageous decisions in games that we’ve typically won.

But in the end, we won.

However, I and other bloggers have long told out that if it is allowed to continue, it will eventually lead to these types of judgments, causing us to lose important games.

We have arrived at a critical point.

Celtic as a club has always had to be superior to the authorities.

We’ve always had to go above and above to avoid the ill will that the SFA harbors for us.

But because we’ve never opposed it in this century, it was unavoidable that it would catch up to us.

Granted, our terrible recruitment this season has allowed it to catch up with us, and the guilt lies solely on our board.

Even while the repercussions from last Sunday’s blatantly biased refereeing shitshow continues, the dismantling of last season’s treble-winning squad continues apace.

Liel Abada has moved to Charlotte FC, while Alexandro Bernabei has signed on loan for SC Internacional in Brazil’s top flight.

Two more names to join the ranks of Josip Juranovic, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Carl Starfelt, Aaron Mooy, David Turnbull, and Felipe Jota.

Bernabei may not be a major loss, but we now have no backup for our left back position.

Greg Taylor is the only person still at the club.

In a week marked by inept refereeing, absolute incompetence appears to reign supreme at our club.

We’ve been working on the left back position for more than a year.

Yet we have opted to let our only backup leave?

To some extent, we are the builders of our own demise if we lose this title.

However, that does not mean that these flaws will not be exploited.

You better believe they’ll be.

Earlier in this piece, I stated that Scottish football had numerous elephants in the room.

None of which have we, as a club, ever truly challenged.

The current board, which has been in place for the most of this century, has never upset the balance.

They did not even address one of the sport’s most serious scandals, the EBT era.

They gladly accepted Celtic’s loss of 11 potential trophies over that time period.

In truth, Peter Lawwell was more concerned about the financial implications of a league without Rangers 1872 for our team.

Surprisingly, we did just fine without them in the top flight from 2012 to 2016.

Our apathy is the root cause of our current situation.

John Beaton, for example, is taking the piss out of us, as are his paymasters in the SFA.

However, Brendan Rodgers’ hearing on March 28th provides us with an excellent opportunity to dispute this problem once and for all.

To reveal it for the absurdity that it is.

Following the sale of Liel Abada, Celtic currently has about £80 million in their bank accounts.

There is no excuse, and no cost should be spared in resisting this.

A reputable King’s Counsel should be hired to represent both the club and Brendan Rodgers at the future hearing.

SOMEONE WHO IS MUCH SMARTER THAN THE SFA’S INTELLIGENTSIA.

He must address the topic of unconscious bias, emphasising that it is statistically impossible for someone who supports the Ibrox club not to make judgments that benefit them.

The question of declaration of allegiance must be addressed.

Then there’s the question of amateur referees officiating professional games.

Consider this logically: how is it acceptable for amateurs to referee a league in which the champion stands to pocket £63 million in SFA prize money and Champions League qualification?

We also need to question how the Ibrox club can repeatedly throw the game into disrepute while avoiding sanctions.

Consistent demonstrations of incompetence should be highlighted.

There is a plentiful supply.

The problems in our game may be readily resolved if the appropriate strategy was taken.

And that strategy must be as strong as possible by March 28th.

Paying the standard startled, dismayed, and astonished lip service will not suffice.

We either go for the jugular or bear the consequences.

BENT GAME, RIGGED GAME, AND CORRUPT GAME.

Because that’s exactly what it is.

And it will only worsen.

If the SFA wins, Beaton, Robertson, McLean, Dickinson, and others will know that it’s open season on Celtic.

They’ll know they can do whatever they want with no consequences.

They will understand that every time they screw Celtic, they will be rewarded.

There’s no responsibility.

Incompetence will be greeted by backslapping.

Our club and board have the ability to set the wheels in action to bring this to a stop.

The major question is whether they will seize that chance.

There’s never been a better time to do it.

Have they got the balls?

I won’t hold my breath.

Let’s just say that anything out of the ordinary will completely surprise me.

A shock factor is something our board has never achieved.

I think there is a first time for everything.

WILL CELTIC FORM A PAIR AND TACKLE THIS ISSUE HEAD ON?
