Bruins Announce Jersey Numbers For Trade Deadline Acquisitions.
The Bruins acquired two players prior to the NHL trade deadline, and fans know what numbers they will wear.
Pat Maroon and Andrew Peeke were added to Boston’s roster on Friday. Don Sweeney, general manager of the Boston Bruins, expressed optimism
that the moves will aid the team’s pursuit of the Stanley Cup.
On Saturday, the Bruins announced that Peeke will wear No. 52 jersey while Maroon will wear No. 62. Peeke will be the ninth player to wear the No.
52 sweater. Sean Kuraly, who played for Boston between 2017 and 2021, was the last player to accomplish so. Maroon is the sixth player to wear No.
62, the last being Rick Nash, who was also acquired on the trade deadline in 2017-18.
Maroon had back surgery last month, but he should be able to play for the Spoked B by the end of this month. Peeke will not play against the
Pittsburgh Penguins at TD Garden on Saturday. His debut date is undetermined. After Derek Forbort was placed on long-term injured reserve,
Sweeney stated that the latter’s season is “more than likely” ended.
Boston players welcomed two trade deadline pickups as part of their goal to win the Stanley Cup.
