According to a fresh transfer rumor, Celtic is more interested in completing the summer signing of a player than Italy and AC Milan veteran Paolo Maldini.

Undoubtedly, the Hoops are planning to make a lot of moves during the summer transfer window to bolster Brendan Rodgers’ team, and they currently appear to be concentrating on defensive signings.

This is due to the fact that the 26-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and it is doubtful that he would sign an extension with his current team.
The report also names Rangers as suitors, but before they consider making a deal for him, the Hoops’ opponents will need to trade Borna Barisic or Ridvan Yilmaz.
Smal is said to have been told “what they can offer” by Celtic, indicating that negotiations have already taken place. It appears that Smal would be a great addition to the team.
With a wealth of experience under his belt and many more years to play at a high level, the 26-year-old is in a fantastic position to arrive at Parkhead and make an early impact.
Small has played for Twente in the Eredivisie 16 times this season. He has also played twice in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The fact that he has been compared to Italy’s national treasure and given the nickname “Smaldini” back home may be the greatest compliment anyone could give him.
