Following the latest Celtic news from the SFA, Peter Grant expressed his dismay.

Peter Grant ‘disgusted’ after hearing the latest Celtic update from the SFA

The Celtic red card furore rumbles on as Peter Grant lets the SFA have it both barrels after hearing the latest update from the games’ governing body.

On the red card that Hyunjun Yang received at Hearts on Sunday, we have heard opinions from experts, pundits, and even Brendan Rodgers throughout the week.

After learning that the SFA had upheld Yang’s red card and consequent three-game suspension, Celtic opted to appeal the judgment this week. Grant was incensed and told the Hampden suits precisely what he thought of their outcome.

“But the referees, I have been disgusted by the fact that two of them [John Beaton and Don Robertson] when they take it into their leader Crawford Allan, if the three guys can’t get the right decision out of there [the SFA offices], that tells you how bad a state we are in terms of refereeing decisions,” Grant said on The Go Radio Football Show.

If he says the boot is high, then fair enough, he’s made the right call in awarding a free kick.

“A card with a yellow color I would have challenged that. The red card was embarrassing, but that didn’t make things better.

“And for them to return to the [SFA] office without making any changes after Celtic requested that they examine it and refrain from making any changes.

“I’m saying this for football, not only for Celtic, I promise.VAR is a joke. If the referees are unable to make the correct call, then they are truly deficient.

Whoa. Grant has done some amazing work, and it’s very encouraging to hear a pundit and former Celtic player feel so strongly about this subject. Grant, though, has always been that way.

Regardless of how he feels about Celtic and the game as a whole, the former hoops star is usually fair and impartial.

But even in this instance, Grant is obviously furious—both at VAR and at the SFA for failing to reach the right decision in Yang’s termination.

The South Korean will now be out for Celtic’s next three league games, and if my calculations are accurate, he will miss the Ibrox Glasgow Derby.

Rodgers will suffer a severe setback as a result, as the SFA may summon him for his remarks made following the Hearts game.

For Celtic, everything is going wrong at the wrong time. Hopefully, this will energize the group and inspire them to win this crown.
