Early on Wednesday, Argentine media seemed to confirm that Alexandro Bernabei would be moving from Celtic to Internacional.
After receiving very little playing time under Brendan Rodgers, there have been rumours in the player’s home nation that the fullback is leaving the Hoops on a loan agreement.
It appears that Globe Esporte is trying to diffuse tensions as the Brazilian media begins to report on this Celtic transfer.
According to the site, International is in negotiations with Celtic to arrange for Bernabei’s arrival. But there’s still work to be done, and the local transfer window ends on Thursday night, so there’s pressure to finalise the transaction before then.
According to the article, talks are about a loan until the end of the year with a buyout option, but it doesn’t seem like anyone in Brazil is aware of how much Celtic wants that buyout clause to be.
Bernabei has made nine appearances for Celtic this season, but he has only played 429 minutes. Transfermarkt now values him at €2 million, so it’s unlikely the Hoops would get much more for the sale—especially if they’re dealing with a Brazilian team.
