Aaron Rodgers Explains Why He Thinks The Jets Can Contend Next Season
Even though the New York Jets have the longest active postseason drought of any of the four major American sports, Aaron Rodgers feels optimistic about the team’s chances of contending in 2019. During an appearance on the Keep Hammer Collective podcast, Aaron Rodgers discussed his recovery and the reasons he thinks the Jets have the ideal players, including Jermain Johnson, Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Sauce Gardner, and others, to be competitive in the 2024 NFL season.
Rodgers raises valid concerns over the Jets’ capabilities, given that they have players who can change the course of games on offense and defense at almost every position. Though their offensive line was dismal the previous season, the Jets’ main concern is protecting Rodgers, both in general for the offense’s success and in terms of keeping healthy.
During the interview, Rodgers admitted that the Jets needed to improve their offensive line, adding, “We’ve got to sort out the offensive line, maybe add a couple of guys there.” Obtain a different receiver, perhaps. However, I enjoy our prospects and believe that we always have a chance if I’m present. It’s challenging for any quarterback to be successful behind a porous offensive line, but for the Jets it’s even more important because Rodgers is forty years old and has just recovered from a serious Achilles tear.
