£37m former Sunderland loanee tipped for summer transfer exit amid Leeds United links

It’s expected that Amad Diallo will depart Manchester United in the summer of 2019.

It is predicted that Amad Diallo would depart Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Last season, Amad had a successful loan stay in the Championship with Sunderland, helping Tony Mowbray’s team reach the play-offs. The player’s knee injury made things more difficult for the Black Cats last summer, despite their desire for him to return.

When they were on Wearside together, Mowbray and Amad had a good friendship. But, after being fired, the former is now Birmingham City’s manager while receiving treatment for a medical condition.

Though there had been some conjecture that Sunderland might make a bid in January to entice Amad back to the team, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United was Amad’s new home.

After returning to fitness following an injury sustained last summer, Amad was linked to interest from the Black Cats, Leeds United, Middlesbrough, and Leicester City in January. Nevertheless, United retained Amad following their alleged £19 million—which increased to £37 million in 2020—payment to Atalanta of Italy for the midfielder.

The Manchester Evening News’s Samuel Luckhurst reported that Amad has only made three substitute appearances since he recovered from a knee injury in late December, suggesting that the winger is expected to quit the team. Amad might as well pack his luggage if Ten Hag has support.”

Under interim head coach Mike Dodds, Sunderland is now on a five-game losing skid. On Saturday, they take on Southampton in the Championship at St Mary’s.
