Exclusive: Wyness suggests Everton’s astonishing new Branthwaite asking price

Real Madrid and Manchester United are reportedly interested in Jarrad Branthwaite, and former Everton manager Keith Wyness says the club absurdly values him at up to “£100 million.”

Speaking on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old, who ran a football consultancy advising elite clubs after serving as CEO at Goodison Park from 2004 to 2009, called Branthwaite a “huge talent” there and claimed this has caused his price tag to soar.

This season, the 21-year-old centre back has emerged as Everton’s breakout star with 30 games in all competitions and a rapidly developing reputation.

However, Branthwaite has been linked to a summer move away from Merseyside as the Toffees struggle financially this season after two financial breaches and a six-point deduction for the season.

Football Insider reported that Man United is presently “leading the race” to sign Branthwaite.

The Daily Mail reports that Real Madrid, the Spanish powerhouse, has also been linked to a deal.

This summer, is Everton star Branthwaite worth £100 million?

Wyness has predicted that Branthwaite will make his way into the England team this summer and further boost his stock with a successful Euros campaign.

“I believe Everton will consider spending between £90 million and £100 million,” Wyness stated to Football Insider.

“I think there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be valued at that level after such a strong Euros performance. He is also likely to make the England squad this summer.”

He is undoubtedly a tremendous talent, and I’ve been really pleased with the maturity he’s displayed since joining the team this season.

“He’s been able to gain the expertise and knowledge to equal Tarkowski in terms of reading the game by playing alongside him at the back.

“Real Madrid and other teams have been linked to him, and I believe he is a talented player.”
