To replace Josh Jacobs in 2024, the Las Vegas Raiders are connected to an unexpectedly talented free agent.

According to a recent source, the Raiders are among the six clubs that are reportedly considering signing Saquon Barkley, the undisputed top running back in NFL free agency in 2024.

The Raiders’ upcoming few months could be fascinating. The squad will try to build on its successful 2023–24 season finale now that Antonio Pierce is the full-time head coach and Tom Telesco is in charge of the front office.

In order to strengthen the squad for 2024, the new team managing the roster will have a first-round choice in the NFL Draft and more than $42 million in free agency. This offseason, Las Vegas has to address a number of needs, including upgrading their main quarterback and adding a standout cornerback.

In addition, they must devise a cunning plan for possible replacement Josh Jacobs in the event that the two-time Pro Bowler goes in free agency. It has been assumed that the Raiders may attempt to select a rookie replacement in days two or three of the NFL Draft if they are unable to sign Jacobs on a deal that benefits the team, given the declining value of running backs in the league. Now, though, there’s a chance they might switch out one great running back for another.

Estimated salary for Saquon Barkley: $42 million over three years

At least six teams could target Saquon Barkley in free agency, including the Las Vegas Raiders.

Up to six clubs might target New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, according to a report on Tuesday from Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, an NFL reporter. Yesterday, the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles were included in the rumours, and the Houston Texans have also been connected to him.

Leonard did, however, add the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, and Las Vegas Raiders to the list of teams reportedly interested in the two-time Pro Bowler.

Given his skill set and that of Jacobs, it is surprising that Barkley may be a target for the Raiders. Additionally, Barkley has seen more injury setbacks than the team’s starting running back in the previous few seasons. But perhaps there is anything about Jacobs’ medical records or his past in the locker room that could encourage Las Vegas to consider a change.
