The only remaining formality in Liel Abada’s transfer to MLS team Charlotte FC is a medical clearance.
Many falsehoods have been propagated about Liel’s circumstances, with the goal of establishing a narrative in which it is claimed that he was driven out because the Celtic supporters in Glasgow mistreated him.
Without providing any evidence, some Israelis are asserting that Liel was the target of verbal abuse from Celtic fans in public and on social media. We shouldn’t truly believe the people making this allegation because they are from a state that is known for spreading incorrect information. The truth and everything is the first casualty of conflict.
What is demonstrated is that Liel has gotten a lot of messages on social media from people in his native country asking him to leave Celtic—and not in a nice way. Given that he still has family back home, it’s understandable that he would desire to quit the club.
These baseless accusations are dragging the Celtic supporters’ good name through the mud. Liel has been in Glasgow for the entire period, and everyone associated with the club has been nothing but supportive. He has our complete support, even during this trying time in his personal life.
It would be painful and disappointing if Liel said anything different because he is aware of this. It will be interesting to see what happens if he doesn’t speak up. What he says of his stay in Glasgow.
Hopefully, it’s not the complete falsehood that his fellow countrymen have been promoting, but rather the reality.
