Everton will survive relegation from the Premier League this season if it comes down to simply matters on the pitch.
That’s the opinion of former Goodison Park scout Bryan King, who cautiously made the forecast considering the possibility of the team receiving another point deduction.
The Toffees are presently waiting on their sentence in relation to a second Premier League allegation involving a financial rule violation.
King told Goodison News, “I think they’ll survive if it’s just left up to playing.” What will happen with the second charge, though? We’re not sure if there will be a money fine or a deduction of points.
“Strict regulations, by which I mean uncompromising regulations, must be implemented regarding fair play, transfers that may carry a cloud over them, and the usage of funds that may carry a cloud over it. What you’re capable of, what you can’t, etc.
Will Everton be handed another points deduction by the Premier League?
Naturally, the Toffees have already experienced a point deduction this season; they were deducted 10 points for non-payment of dues.
The Premier League subsequently lowered that sentence to six points in response to an appeal by the Merseyside team, which caused the club to drop down the league.
The outcome of the second charge is still unknown, but the Toffees will almost certainly be relegated this season if they lose any more points.
