CROWN WORKS STUDIOS:A landmark moment for Sunderland

In light of today’s budget release, Sunderland AFC extends its congratulations to Fulwell Cain and Non-Executive Director Leo Pearlman.

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said this afternoon that the North East has obtained a groundbreaking devolution deal that will enable Crown Works Studios in Sunderland to move forward, marking a significant turning point for the City of Sunderland.

When fully operational, the joint venture between Fulwell 73 and Cain International is expected to generate approximately 8,450 employment in the Northeast, bolstering UK Plc and the region’s creative industries.

Also, it is expected to bring in £336 million annually for the local economy and is regarded as the most economically significant development for the North East since Nissan’s entry in the 1980s.

By 2027, the one-of-a-kind European film and television studio complex will be constructed on the site of a former shipyard, with ground breaking anticipated this summer.

Leo Pearlman praised the people of North East for their outstanding support after the news.

The Non-Executive Director of the Club declared, “We did it.” “And by we, I mean all of the people in the Northeast and all of the people who helped us along the way.

“I mean each and every one of you who challenged the status quo and stood up for our community, for the future of the creative industries in the UK, and for opportunities for the upcoming generation.”

“Thank you to everyone who has supported our ambition,” he continued. “The support for this project from the incredible people and businesses of the North East has been utterly phenomenal.”

“The real work starts now; we hope to break ground this summer.”
